How long will it take to make the big bucks?
How long is it going to take you to make it in YL? Depends how much time you have to give to your business. YL is not a get rich scheme. It is a professional business that requires work (training, practice, prospecting, connecting - repeat), but it can provide you a great lifestyle (Wellness, Purpose & Abundance) if you are proficient in Network Marketing. Follow the steps outlined from Train For Diamond and the TriHarmony Success System and your organization should prosper and grow.
According to Eric Worre, author of "Go Pro - 7 Steps to Becoming a Network Marketing Professional", it's takes about a year to begin seeing a return on your investment. It takes about 3 years to go to supporting yourself full-time and about 5 years to make a six-figure salary consistently . That's not to bad, is it? You could make more at a quicker pace if you worked at it full-time, but most people coming into Young Living don't have that luxury.
Can you make that kind of money without working at it? Not really. Some people have made some money by enrolling a member or two that does the work for you, but you won't make that much and they will quickly advance in rank and you will not profit from their effort. It's just not how YL works.
Compensation Documents
Don't get discouraged if you don't understand the comp plan. We recommended you listen to some of the recorded training to understand it better. Better yet, contact your Sponsor or the Young Living Customer Care Department and they will be happy to help you understand the YL Comp Plan.
Take ANY opportunity to attempt (no matter how poorly) to explain the YL Comp Plan to another person (friends, family, co-workers). This type of practice will help you become proficient at it!

Young Living pays their distributors up to 9 different ways. These include Commissions, Bonuses and Shares. Below you will learn about the ways you can get paid from day one through the rank of Executive. For now, we will only cover #1-5 ways to get paid as these are the only that apply to Distributor through Executive Ranks.
9 Ways to Get Paid
1. Customer Earnings: A commission of 24% on sales to personally sponsored Customers.
2. Start Living Premium Kit Bonus: A bonus of $25 every time you enroll a new Distributor with the premium Start Living Kit. This bonus is a one-time bonus paid to the new distributor's enroller.
3. Fast Start Bonus: This bonus has two parts:
a) You earn 25% on your newly enrolled Distributor's first three months' PV. (Maximum payout of $200 per enrollee per month.)
b) When your new Distributor enrolls a new Distributor, you earn 10% for the first three months' PV of that new Member.
This bonus is paid for 24 months, beginning with the first month in which you become qualified to receive it.
4. Unilevel Commissions: Distributors at the rank of Star and above are paid "Unilevel" commissions on all sales in the first 5 levels of their downline organizations, based on Achievement level. The commission on your first level is 8%, second level is 5%, and third to fifth level is 4%. Dynamic compression means that any level with less than 50 PV compresses up into the level above it, assuring that commissions are paid on all possible levels. What this means is you have the ability to be paid on multiple levels of your organization at once.
5. Rising Star Team Bonus Pool: 1% of the Pool divided into shares according to the number of qualified Distributors that month.
6. Travel Rewards Bonus Pool: 1% of the Pool assigned to help qualifying Distributors pay for expenses incurred for traveling to YL events.
7. Generation Bonus: When you become a Silver Distributor, you begin a generation that continues down to but does not include the next Silver (or above) in your organization. The Generation Bonus pays you an extra percentage on all sales volume in all legs of your entire organization (down to the next Silver or above in any given leg). As Distributors in your organization advance to the rank of Silver, new generations are created. You earn generation bonuses on the additional generations up to 8 generations, depending on your Achievement level. Your first generation pays an extra 2%, your second to seventh generations pay an extra 3%, and your eighth generation pays an extra 1%. (Generations can extend infinitely below the 5 levels of the Unilevel part of the plan if there are no or few Silver Distributors in a given leg.)
8. Generation Leadership Bonus Pool: 6% of the Pool divided into shares according to the number of qualified Distributors that month.
9. Diamond Express Profit Sharing Pool: .5% of the Pool divided according to the number of qualified Distributors that month.
*Share Pool Bonuses - A percentage of YL's total commissionable sales for a given month is divided among four Share Pool Bonuses, each with unique features and qualifications. Please see the Compensation Plan Diagram and Definitions for details.
Let's break it down some more:
#1 Customer Earnings
When you enroll a retail customer you receive 24% of the total retail sales. This amount is calculated in your Personal PV amount and contributes to your OGV. Customers can re-enroll with another distributor at any time.
#2 Fast Start Bonus
Young Living distributors (who qualify with 100PV monthly) are eligible to earn a Fast Start Bonus on all new distributors they personally enroll in the company in the first 3 months of enrollment. This bonus pays 25% on the volume of each personally enrolled distributor’s PV total orders placed during the first three calendar months, in addition to base commissions. Each month the bonus payout of 25% is earned by the enroller, a calculation of 10% of the same volume can be paid to the second level.* A maximum of $200 may be earned from this bonus per distributor, per month, or $80 for the second level. This is based on calender months.
#3 . Start Living Premium Kit Bonus: A bonus of $25 every time you enroll a new Distributor with the premium Start Living Kit. This bonus is a one-time bonus paid to the new distributor's enroller.
*When the Fast Start Bonus is paid, the PV used to calculate the bonus is reduced by 70% for all other commissionable payouts.
Building a Foundation
The Building a Foundation portion of the YL Comp plan applys only to the Star - Executive Ranks. Young Living's compensation plan is designed to help your achieve abundance. No matter what your "ranking" in YL, will never need to spend more than a 100PV each month in order to qualify for commissions, bonuses and shares. What this means is you have the opportunity RIGHT NOW, to take YOUR business from 0 to millions and your only qualifications is to spend 100PV each month. Step 1 & Step 2 below explain Ways to Get Paid #4, #3 from above.

Way to Get Paid #5. The Rising Star Team Bonus is the blueprint you need to build a solid foundation that will lead you to success. Follow this bonus structure and fast track yourself to Diamond.
This bonus can be earned by distributors at the paid-as rank of Star, Senior Star, and Executive. The Rising Star Team Bonus is a pool bonus. Qualifying distributors earn shares based on achieving specific requirements and their paid-as rank for the month. Stars may qualify for 1 share, Senior Stars for 3 shares, and Executives for 6 shares.
PV=Your Personal Volume (how much YOU spend each month)
OGV=Organization Group Volume. OGV is the entire sales volume of a sales organization (everyone in your downline) each month.
LEG=is a distributor in your downline that in on a 100PV or higher monthly.
LEG x OGV= OGV Qualification for each LEG

Rank:
"Distributor", "Star", "Senior Star", & "Executive" are Rank terms that refer to your OGV . As your rank advances to Executive & above your rank will refer to your OGV, plus your LEG x OGV. Your Rank will determine how many levels deep you will be paid commissions from YL.
50PV is the minimum amount required to continue your Essential Rewards account monthly and receive the Fast Start 25% Bonus & Start Living Premium Kit Bonus $25.
Senior Star
Unilevel is a form of commission that is earned through the compensation plan. Qualifying distributors earn 8% on the sales volume, or PV, of each distributor on the first level within their organization, 5% on the second level, and 4% on the third through fifth levels. You have the capability with Young Living to be paid on Multiple levels at one time.
Level: The position of a distributor within a sales organization. Those distributors who are immediately
sponsored by another distributor would be considered the sponsoring distributor’s first level. Those distributors who are sponsored by a distributor’s first level would be considered that distributor’s second level and so on.
Level 1: These are people directly Sponsors by you.
Level 2: These are people directly Sponsored by your Level 1 member.
Level 3: These are people directly Sponsored by your Level 2 member and so on.
Commissions:
As you advance in rank you will qualify to be paid commissions on lower levels of your downline. This is where the passive, residual income comes into play.
These commissions apply to your enrollee's volume after their first 3 calendar months with the company. Prior to the first 3 month the commissions are higher, see Fast Start Bonus above.
Rising Star Team Bonus Pool (Shares)
How to Qualify and Earn Rising Star Team Bonus Pool Shares

1 Share: Personally sponsor 3 distributors (3 separate legs), each LEG with a 100 PV Essential Rewards (autoship) order and with 300 OGV in each leg. Approximately $35-50 bonus each month.

2 More Shares: Add 2 additional personally sponsored distributors (creating 2 more separate legs, making a total of 5 separate legs), each with a 100 PV Essential Rewards (autoship) order and with 500 OGV in each of the 2 new legs AND the other 3 LEGS with 300 OGV. 2 new Shares plus 1 share equals 3 Shares. Approximately $105-150 bonus each month.

3 More Shares: Add another 2 personally sponsored distributors (creating 2 more separate legs, making a total of 7 separate legs), each with a 100 PV Essential Rewards (autoship) order and with 1,000 OGV in each of the 2 new legs. If distributors complete the requirements to earn 1 share, as well as the requirements to earn 2 shares, they will receive a total of 3 shares. 3 share plus the 3 new shares equals 6 total shares. Approximately $210-300 bonus each month.

The maximum number of Rising Star Team Bonus Pool shares a distributor can earn in a calendar month is 6 shares. To earn 6 shares, the organization must include 7 personally sponsored distributors, each with a 100 PV
Essential Rewards order, as well as each of the following, in any order:
3 separate legs with 300 OGV in each leg (amounts can be higher)
2 separate legs with 500 OGV in each leg (amounts can be higher)
2 separate legs with 1,000 OGV in each leg (amounts can be higher)

The value of a share will depend on global commissionable sales and the number of distributors who qualify for the bonus within a calendar month. Distributors must have a minimum 100 PV Essential Rewards (autoship) order to qualify for this bonus.

A distributor will have the opportunity to qualify and earn the Rising Star Team Bonus for 24 months. This time limit creates an incentive to advance in rank and take advantage of other generous bonuses. The first time a distributor qualifies to earn the Rising Star Team Bonus is when the 24 months will begin.

The 24 months are considered continuous, even when a distributor may not qualify to be paid the bonus. For example, if a distributor falls to a lower rank, or rank advances, and does not qualify to be paid the Rising Star Team Bonus after the first month of qualifying, this will still be considered part of the 24-month time frame

YL pays the highest commission during your first 3 months of enrollment. This is an incentive (called a "Quick Start Bonus") for moving quickly through your training and enrolling new members immediately. Remind your new members that they should build quickly and that if they feel the need to know more about the products, they are setting themselves up for failure. In order to succeed in Network Marketing you need to know how to listen, ask questions, use third party tools, ask for references and set up the next appointment (that's it!). Have faith in the company that we have the most amazing products for just about any issue and you DO NOT need to know them. You are NOT a doctor and are NOT licensed to diagnose, treat or cure! Using the website, "Train For Diamond" will give you the tools to conduct a professional business without worrying that you need to know everything. If you really want to help, you need to listen and direct your YL prospects and/or members to the proper resource to learn it themselves. Give your new Business Builders direction by giving them homework. After explaining the Comp Plan to them, have them explain it to a friend, partner/ spouse, family member, etc. ASK: "When do you think you will have this completed?" And set the follow up appointment. Part of your job as a Leader is to schedule another appointment each time you have contact with your downline. This is key to creating success.

Young Living pays its distributors in a variety of ways. You receive compensation from Commissions, Bonuses and Shares. By learning to understand the Compensation Plan you will not only be able to share it with your other new members, you will also know how to best grow your organization to maximize your Abundance.
You need to understand how you get paid and do so right away. If you don't understand it, how are you showing your Professionalism? Are you making this your business if you don't understand how you make money at it? Do you think the President of Apple doesn't understand the company compensation plan? You must now think like a business owner and understand the Building a Foundation portion of the YL Compensation Plan. Later you can move on to learning more.
Read thoroughly through "How we get paid" and make an appointment with your Sponsor to review. Once you have review with your Sponsor, make appointment with friends to practice. The more you practice, the easier it will become.
