Always qualify your prospective Business Builder

1) Do they have the money?
2) Do they have the time?
3) Do they like to interact with people?
4) Are they teachable?  Trainable?

Step 1: Listen

You must not talk about you or your business no matter how eager you are or they are or how perfect they are for your business.

The focus of the conversation must be about them and you - listen, listen, listen.  Practice this with family and friends (you will learn A LOT about them).

Listen for:

  • Dissatisfaction: financial, freedom, job, health

  • Dreams and desires: money, travel, time with family, engaging work, helping other people, fun, meaning

Step 2: Ask Questions

Start people talking by saying things about their motivators:

  • Family

  • Occupation

  • Recreation

  • Money

Scenario 2: Someone asks you how you are doing?

You are speaking with some who asks how you are doing.

"Hey, how are you?"

"Really great now that I've started my own business."

Give your Elevator Speech (Click Here for variations)

“You know how a lot of people today would really like to improve their health AND their financial situation, overall?  Well, that’s what I do. I work with a company and show people how to get those results if they wish”.

If they ask for more info ... "How is the business going?"...or say something that shows interest in your business, respond.  If not, let it go.

"It's going very well.  I'm making money to create our own vacation fund." OR "Really well.  I'm creating my son's college fund." OR "Do you know anyone who would have an interest in creating an income from home?" OR "...earning a secondary income?" "...having their own business?"

"How do you do that?"

"I'm glad you asked.  If you have 5 minutes I can give you a short over view of my company."

If they agree, give your 5 minute presentation - Click Here

If they do not have 5 minutes say, "With your permission, can we get together?  Let's find a common time.  I'll show the program to you.  If you like what you see, we can discuss the next step, if not, no hard feelings at all, fair enough?"

  • Why do you like (what you just told me) why don’t you like (what you just told me)

  • Why is doing all of that important to you?  Or Why is not doing all of that important to you?

  • How do you feel about doing/that or How do you feel about not doing that?

  • What would you change about your job if you could?

  • Why would you change that?

  • Why is that important ot you?

  • How do you feel about that?

  • Is there anything else you care about and would change?

  • How does that make you fell to have what you just said you wanted?  Or not have what you just said you wanted

  • What’s stopping you from getting what you want?

  • What if…

  • What will you do if you cannot get it?

  • What have done, if anything about it?

  • Have you looked for anything that would give you what your seeking?

  • What would you do about it if you could?

  • Why is that?

  • Why is that important to you?

  • What’s preventing you from making a change or doing it right now?

  • Let me ask you, if something came along that would give you all the things you wanted, such as…(inser the things they want), and none of the things you don’t like, such as (insert things) would you look at an opportunity like that?

I don’t want to sell….

  • I’m can appreciate that!  Let me ask you..when you say You could never sell what do you mean by that?

  • I can understand that? I have to agree with you there. Can I ask, do you feel I’ve sold you or was persuasive with you while we’ve been talking? – and yet, during the time we’ve spent together you’v told mea ll about yourself and what you’re looking for and we came up something that could possibly help you get what you want.  Is that right? – “Well, I suppose selling wasn’t what you thought it was?  Suppose it was doing what we are doing…talking with people and discovering if you can be of help?  What if you could learn how to do that, and even let what you learn spill over into your personal life as well, to strengthen the relationships you have and help you create new ones, would you consider learning how to do that with me?

  • "You know how you said you would like to pursue your dream of creating a healing center for children…and you can’t, because you’re working irregular hours as a chef and you don’t have any time or money to pay off those debts to make your ambition come true…and because of this, it’s making you feel trapped and unfulfilled?  What, what I do is I work for myself in my own home based business.  I work my own hours, can come and go as I please, make a very good income, whether I work or not, and can work mostly anywhere I like - What this means to you is that you could do the same thing.  You could do what I’m doing on a part time basis when it is convenient to you, so you would have the security of your present job until you are exceeding your present income and can leave it to pursue your dream of building the healing center were talking about.  Not only that, the ongoing income you get, whether you’re working or not, will pay for all your living cost while you set up and operate your center.  This will allow you to get fulfillment back you said you were looking for and let you start feeling good about yourself again, by getting your dream moving forward."

"If I could show you how to earn an income from home that will allow you to spend more time with your family, would that help you?"

"If I could show you how to create an income without having the frustrations and pressure you currently have would that be of any interest to you?"

"If I could show you how to create an income from your home in your spare time and allow you to travel the way you want to, would you like that?"

"If I was able to show you how to play more golf (tennis, hike, play music, etc.) without having to worry about the money, would that be attractive to you?"
"Hmmm....this may or may not help you but..."

"It's possible I could help you but I'll let you decide that for yourself..."

"I have no way of knowing if you'd be interested in this or not but..."

Here we ask a question around your prospect's motivators with a possible solution.  If they respond favorably, we now have their interest we need to schedule a qualifying call:

"What is standing in the way of you going to your kids ball game?" (spending more time with your family? playing more golf?, feeling better?)

"Why is your job so frustrating?"

"What's holding you back from taking that vacation you want?"

"What concerns you regarding your boss?" "Why do you say that?  What do you mean?"

Before you offer a solution, you must allow your prospect to be comfortable and take away any resistance: (this is called an "easy exits")
"How large is your Family?"

"What kind of work do you do?"

"What do you like to do when you're not working?"

"Are you making all of the type of income you want to make?"

If you hear dissatisfactions or desires, ask a question or two around it to get them to elaborate:

Interested in Business Building?
Interested in Business Building?
When you have the oppertunity to speak to prospects, you need to be prepaired to ask them questions that will let you know if they would be interested in the business oppertunity from Young Living.  Read below the various scenarios & scripts so you can learn how to find out if your oppertunity is what they need.

Scenario 1: You are speaking with someone who is interested in your business opportunity.

Create a natural conversation with people without coming across as if you are prospecting them.  This allows people to decide if this business is for them.  You are there to ask questions.  You ARE NOT THERE TO SELL them on the idea of having a YL business.  Doesn't that take the pressure off you?

If you do discover they are interested, your goal is to prepare them to be qualified for this business.  What do we mean by qualify? We mean to learn if they really have the time, the capital to invest monthly, and are trainable/coachable.  If they are not qualified, you will waste your time and theirs.  We've discovered this sort of person has it in the back of their mind that this business is a get rich without working business. This is not the case.  If you have the time, capital and are trainable this can be a very enjoyable business with no time constraints, no boss and the sky's the limit.
