There are 4 important things to know and/or do in this business in order to succeed.

#1 YL has products for just about anything.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE.

#2 Resource & Research.  You do need to know where to locate these answers, s

#3 Scripts.  Know the language of asking permission and helping your prospective member get what they want.  We call this creating the relationship.  Then Practice, Practice, Practice and then Practice some more.

#4 Follow Up.  If you do not follow up you will lose them. During your Follow Up is the perfect time to enhance the relationship with your new member.  This business is all about relationships.  Using your scripts will enhance your relationships.

Finding Quality Prospects

Qualified prospective YL members are everywhere.  You just need to learn how to connect to them.  We know it is very difficult to "find" people or to attract people to your market, that is why we will show you a few different ways to Prospect.

1) 3rd Party References

2) Niche Marketing

3) Presentations (Home Parties, Corporate Wellness, Wellness Workshops)

  •  Presentations work best when you go to the group.  For example: Home parties for your downline (Intro to YL Lifestyle or Business Opportunity) workshops for various Niche Markets or communities, etc.

4) Networking Events:

Creating your Contact List

Make a list of everyone you know.  This list may include organizations you are involved in, like church or synagogue or service professionals you know like Hair Salons or Spas you frequent. Wait!!  You know tons of people that could be helped by YL.  Everyone does.  It is from our experience that holding back with these individuals is a better way to allow them to come to you.

Share with your friends and family here and there.  Tell them about about your awesome new business, but do not offer them the opportunity! Why? Friends and Family generally feel you are up to something.

Of course this is NOT a hard and fast rule.  There are tons of distributors that went right into business with a sibling, uncle, parent or best friend. That being said, take into account your own situation with your family and friends and if you do choose to approach them make sure to USE YOUR SCRIPTS with them.  Holding back can peak their interest and they may want to jump on your express train to Royal Crown Diamond! We've also seen many people convince family and friends to join them when in fact it wasn't their "thing."  This almost always falls apart and you will have wasted not only your time, but theirs as well.

By using your family and friends to practice your scripts with will allow them the opportunity to listen to what you have to say and give you honest feedback.  If they listen to your scripts and presentations and don't want to jump on board right away, then it is not for them and you've saved yourself and your family and friends some possible awkward moments.

Sit down now and make out your list.  We suggest you type it up on the computer and save it on your desktop.   Review it each day to keep you focused on your prospects.

Prospect Email Campaign

Create or use a Prospect Email Campaign to send Prospective Member information about Young Living, essential oils and their benefits.  We love Marketing Scents because they have done this for us!  Either way, make sure to email AND call your prospective member to learn from them how you can assist them and stay in touch.

Prospecting with a Niche Market
  • Develop your Niche Market. Click Here for more

  • Make a list of organizations and groups related to your Niche Market, both virtually (facebook, LinkedIn, MeetUp, etc.) and locally.  Create a FB Page and FB group targeted to your Niche Market and begin inviting members to your group.  Begin inviting members to virtual or real presentations.  If approaching a local group, ask to speak at one of their meetings.  Attempting to bring the group isn't as effective.

  • Create a Yearly Schedule of how you Market to you Niche.  Decide how will you market to your Niche.  Social Media posts? Emails? Presentations? Expos? Networking Events?

  • For example, a Dr. Mom would target seasons (allergies, back-to-school, traveling with kids, childhood illness, the Germ Monster, Medicine Cabinet Makeover, etc.).

  • If you need words to say or to write when you are marketing for new clients, visit the Scenario and Scripts page for more details.
